Nyesom Wike , minister of the Federal Capital Territory, hails from Obio Akpor and was chairman of the LGA from 1999 to 2007.
Despite the intervention of President Bola Tinubu, the cold-war between the duo had persisted. The rift had led to an attempt to bomb the state House of Assembly complex while 27 lawmakers loyal to Wike defected to the All Progressives Congress, APC. Inaugurating the road project, Fubara said: “At this time, if I was an evil person, I would say, ‘I wouldn’t come here,’ considering the nature and the location of this place.
