In this interview with JOHN ALECHENU, a former National Vice Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Hilliard Eta, speaks about the crisis within the party, the performance of the Buhari-led APC administration and sundry other issues of national importanceparty, the All Progressives Congress, just like the opposition Peoples Democratic Party, is in turmoil.
I want to look at the question from two perspectives. One is that there are a few people in the party who are not interested in the growth and stability of the party. There are some powerful people, I must admit. However, I would like to tell you that there are millions and millions of our party members who do not share that view, who are ready to make sacrifices for the party.
I share in that sentiment. You know that the moment a lizard falls into a pit, it becomes a prey to chickens. We cannot allow ourselves to lose our hard-fought victory and the position we now occupy in the body polity of this country by insisting based on ego and pride that the call for the return of the NWC is not tenable. I have heard some people talk about an interim leadership for the party. It is as unconstitutional as the caretaker committee.
