The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rep. Femi Gbajabiamila, has said that the Updated Legislative Agenda of the House of Representatives is a reflection of new realities before the Nigerian people, especially during the current global Coronavirus pandemic.

According to Gbajabiamila, the objectives of the retreat are to: “provide a platform for the House of Representatives to collectively reflect on the impact of COVID-19 on the economy, the well-being of the people and the role of the House of Representatives in mitigating its impacts on Nigerians.The Updated Legislative Agenda was presented by the Speaker to the Executive through the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha, and the Minister of Health, Dr. Osagie Ehanire.

It spells out ten areas for prioritised legislative interventions, with an implementation framework between 2020 and 2021
