Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has voiced his disappointment over the conduct of the ongoing Ramadan Feeding program in the Kano metropolis accusing handlers of siphoning food. This was contained in a statement signed by his spokesperson, Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, on Friday.
The governor expressed his dismay during an impromptu visit to one of the feeding centres in Gidan Maza, Municipal Local Government Area. During his inspection, Governor Yusuf conveyed his dissatisfaction with the conduct of the program handlers, accusing them of depriving the intended beneficiaries. He emphasized the importance of transparency and accountability, stating, 'We will not accept dishonesty and mismanagement of public resources.
reported that Kano State government has budgeted N6b for the 2024 Ramadan feeding programme across the 44 local government areas of the state.
