PTF’s mandate remains COVID-19 containment –Buhari
The President, Major-General Muhammadu Buhari says the mandate of the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19 is to do whatever it takes to contain the viral pandemic in the country.
Buhari said the Federal Government is working hard to contain the viral pandemic to save lives and protect the economy. “The impact of the pandemic has disrupted our economic system and to ensure its functioning while still addressing the spread, the Federal Government put in place a number of various non-pharmaceutical measures to slow down the spread of the virus in addition to a progressive re-opening of the economy,” the president said.
Efforts to fight COVID-19, he said, has also been aided by state government’s COVID-19 Task Forces and the National Emergency Operations Centre responsible for providing technical and professional guidance in the national response.
