He believes the move is inappropriate for Yoruba land and will ultimately harm Makinde's government.
The controversy surrounding the establishment of Sharia Law in Oyo State has continued to gain traction. The move has been described as an action that is inimical and dangerous to Oyo State and the Southwest in general. Adding his voice to the debate, the Leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele, warned Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State to urgently address the issue of the proposed Sharia law establishment in the state.
It is not in people’s interest, it’s a means to cause division. 'It will be a disaster for the state and country. The governor needs to address it urgently; it’s not reasonable and sensible.” Primate Ayodele also pointed out that Sharia law is not an instrument of state but that of division. 'Sharia law will bring not development into the country, just like the reliance on crude oil that won’t create any significant improvement,' he added.
