Suspected bandits have attacked two villages, inhabited by Fulani herders near Iwo town and abducted three residents.
“As of Sunday afternoon, the search groups were still combing bush in the area to free the victims,” the source said.
When contacted, Osun Police Command’s spokesperson, Yemisi Opalola, who confirmed the incident, said about eight armed men attacked the villages. She said, “One Hamidu Ibraheem of Testing Ground Area, Iwo, reported that at about 10pm on Friday, a gang of armed men numbering about eight came to where he kept his cattle at Idi Araba, Iwo and abducted his son, Ojonla Adams, 38years, a Fulani by tribe.
“They also abducted in the neighbourhood two other persons -Hamzat Ibrahim and Deere Ibrahim, both Bororo by tribe. Policemen, working with hunters and local security groups, are combing bush in the area to rescue the victims.”All rights reserved.
