Detectives attached to the Zonal Monitoring Unit of Zone 2 Command Headquarters, Onikan, Lagos have arrested two suspected Internet fraudsters, who specialised in hacking into people’s accounts and fleecing them of their cash.

Sources said the suspects identified as Yusuf Ademola and Adesina Olawale Abiodun had confessed that they had hacked into over 5000 accounts of different people especially, those whose bank accounts are with the United Bank for Africa .

The statement reads: “On May 8, 2023, a petition was submitted by UBA to the Assistant Inspector General of Police that there are some syndicates that specialise on Internet fraud of various banks in Nigeria, most especially UBA, in which they hack into customers accounts and move their monies. “The suspects confessed to the crime that they have many syndicates all over Nigeria and that they use software to hack into customers’ accounts and move their money undetected from any bank they wish.
