According to a press release signed by the state Police Public Relations Officer, Michael Abattam, the suspect was arrested along Owerri-Umuahia road while the men of the command were on ‘stop and search’ operation.
The release said, “following a tip off received by the command that some of the remnants of ESN/IPOB members are seen roving around, after the recent decimation of their camps, the Commissioner of Police, Abutu Yaro, immediately directed the Operation Search and Flush team, who embarked on a vigorous search.“After interrogation, he confessed to being a member of ESN.
The statement added that the investigation is ongoing, stating the command’s determination to neutralize all terror groups in the state.
