The Imo State police command has arrested eleven criminal suspects in Omuma Oru-east LGA of the State.
The command, in a press release signed by Michael Abattam, the state Police Public Relations Officer, said the armed bandits were intercepted by men of Omuma Area Command. According to the release, “the armed bandits were sighted moving in convoy into Omuma, when the tactical team of the command was alerted which immediately launched an attack on the hoodlums.Items recovered from the hoodlums include two Toyota Highlanda SUV jeeps and a milk-coloured unregistered Lexus jeep.
The command further said that the tactical team and special force led by ACP Evans E. Shem, are currently searching the bush for the possible arrest of others who fled into the bush. Meanwhile, the State Commissioner of Police, Abutu Yaro, has warned bandits to keep off the state or face dire consequences.
