The Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria has decried the incessant kidnapping of its members.
The body also flayed the rising insecurity across the country, calling for urgent actions to stop the ugly trend. The association said this during a visit to security agencies in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital, as part of its week-long security awareness campaign, with the theme, “Making Nigeria and Nigerians safer and more secure.”
The Port Harcourt Zonal Chairman, PENGASSAN, Peter Onita, said the idea was to show solidarity with the security agencies as well as sensitise citizens not to put their safety in the hands of security organisations alone. Onita, who addressed journalists after a visit to the headquarters of the Department of State Services and the police, said the union extended a hand of fellowship to the security agencies in the state to encourage them to do more in ensuring that the lives of Nigerians were secured.
