The National Working Committee (NWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has affirmed Rt. Hon. S.K.E Udeh Okoye as the substantive National Secretary, following court judgments that validated his position. The NWC has commenced the process of notifying relevant authorities, including INEC, of this decision.

The National Working Committee (NWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party ( PDP ) has officially recognized and confirmed Rt. Hon. S.K.E Udeh Okoye as the substantive National Secretary of the party. This decision comes after a thorough review of a memo presented by the Acting National Chairman, outlining legal judgments that confirm Udeh Okoye 's position. The NWC convened a meeting on Wednesday, February 12, 2025, where it carefully examined several crucial documents.

These included a declaratory judgment from the High Court of Enugu and a judgment from the Court of Appeal, Enugu Division, both of which declared Udeh Okoye as the legitimate PDP National Secretary. The committee also considered legal opinions provided by Dr. Kabiru T. Turaki SAN and the PDP's National Legal Adviser. In a statement released by Hon. Debo Ologunagba, the PDP’s National Publicity Secretary, the party affirmed: 'After due consideration of the Memo and the attachments, the NWC overwhelmingly recognizes, acknowledges and confirms Rt. Hon. S.K.E Udeh Okoye as the substantive National Secretary of the PDP in full compliance with and obedience to the Judgement of the Court of Appeal, recognizing that there is no subsisting or superseding Judgment or Order from any Court of superior authority or hierarchy. 'Furthermore, the NWC has initiated the process of transmitting its Resolution/Decision affirming Rt. Hon. S.K.E Udeh Okoye as the PDP National Secretary to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and other relevant bodies for official recognition, in accordance with the Court of Appeal's ruling. The NWC expressed gratitude to all organs, leaders, critical stakeholders, and members of the PDP for their unwavering support, respect for the Rule of Law, and loyalty to the party during this crucial period. The NWC emphasized its commitment to being guided by the provisions of the PDP Constitution (as amended in 2017), Operational Guidelines, the Rule of Law, and the vision of its founding fathers for the stability and growth of the party, the advancement of democracy, and the well-being of Nigerians
