The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said on Saturday that the water level in Angat dam has continued to go down.

PAGASA Climate Monitoring and Prediction Section Chief Ana Liza Solis said in an interview with DZBB Super Radyo that only 10 percent of the 300 millimeters of rain forecasted for the month of October came in.

The result is the continued lowering trend of the water level of not just in Angat Dam but also in other dams. This is the reason why Maynilad Water Services Inc and Manila Water Company scheduled water interruptions to conserve water consumption. Maynilad Water Services said in a report by GMA News that they were hoping to save water so it would last until the summer next year.

They estimated that the water might go down until 182 meters which is a big cut from the normal high of 212 meters.According to Solis, the low-pressure area that entered the Philippines may bring more water to Angat Dam. Solis then advised the people to save water and store only what they need in the duration of the water interruption for overstocking would increase its demand.
