The Osun State Police Command on Sunday said it had commenced investigation into a fire incident in which four shops were razed along Station Road, Osogbo, the state capital.

The shops were razed down by the fire which started Saturday evening and could not be put off until the early hours of Sunday.

The operatives of the Osun State Fire Service were reportedly called by the people when the smoke was observed in one of the shops and despite prompt response, it was learnt the fire could not be curbed until three other adjoining shops were razed down. The spokesperson for the State Fire Service, Ibrahim Adekunle, could not be reached for comment as calls to his line rang out with no response, while text to him had also not been responded to as of the time of filing this report.
