Two farmers, Samuel Oladotun and Fashola Tobiloba, who were abducted by gunmen in the Oke Osun area, Ileogbo, Osun State, last Wednesday, have been released.

Sources said they were released alongside a driver, on Tuesday, after N6m was paid to their abductors.

Recall that the three people sent to deliver the ransom on Monday were held by the gunmen after collecting the money. The hoodlums were said to have made a fresh demand of N24m for all five victims.A reliable source close to the family of one of the victims said the two farmers were released from a forest around Ileogbo and Kuta.“They just walked out, which suggests that they must have been kept in a forest around that axis.

Sources said Olofinlade, who was abducted around 6pm on Saturday along Itaji Ekiti-Ijelu Ekiti Road in the Oye LGA of Ekiti State while returning to his parish at Omu Ekiti, was released on Tuesday. A source at Ijelu Ekiti said, “Information on the circumstances leading to the release of the Catholic priest is sketchy, but I can tell you he has been released. The reverend father was taken to a hospital immediately for medical attention.”

Also, the Catholic Bishop of Ekiti Diocese, Felix Ajakaye, confirmed the release of Olofinlade, who is the parish priest of St. George’s Catholic Church, Omu.All rights reserved.
