The factional Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mojisola Meranda has said that only four out of her 12 police officers were restored after their withdrawal on Thursday, February 27.
Recall that there were reports that Meranda's security team were withdrawn by the police while that of the impeached Speaker, Mudashiru Obasa were reinstated on Thursday. The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Moshood Jimoh while reacting to the reports said the officers were withdrawn following an audit of all personnel attached to VIPs in Lagos State. However, speaking to journalists in Lagos on Friday, Meranda countered claims by the Lagos State commissioner of police that her security details have been restored.
She said, “As you can see, I have my people here with me, and God is with me. Well, I have three or four policemen, whereas my normal convoy, my team, includes 12 policemen, four DSS operatives, and two anti-bomb. But this morning, I don’t have that.”
