Ojota clash: Yoruba Nation agitators, police trade blames | The Guardian Nigeria News - Nigeria and World News ⬇️

The pro-Yoruba separatist group and the police are now pointing accusing fingers at each other over who provoked the clash.

According to the agitators, the police provoked the clash after its men tried to disperse the rally and the agitators refused to heed. Some eyewitnesses said this caused the police officers to use tear gas to disperse the agitators as they had started disrupting the smooth flow of traffic on the Ikorodu Road-Ojota axis.

“The miscreants attacked the police, shooting, and destroyed two vehicles in the process. One person has been confirmed dead, while two police officers shot by the miscreants are currently receiving treatment. Four suspects have been arrested and investigations have commenced.”
