Former President Olusegun Obasanjo accuses NNPCL of disrespecting his office with an informal invitation to tour newly revived refineries.

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has criticized the Nigeria n National Petroleum Company Limited ( NNPCL ) for its approach to inviting him to tour the recently revived Port Harcourt and Warri Refineries. Obasanjo 's spokesperson, Kehinde Akinyemi, stated that the NNPCL 's method of inviting the former president was disrespectful. This response follows Obasanjo 's earlier criticism of NNPCL for rejecting Aliko Dangote 's $750 million offer to manage Port Harcourt and Kaduna refineries.

Obasanjo argued that NNPCL's rejection of Dangote's proposal was inappropriate given their inability to effectively manage the plants. Akinyemi emphasized that NNPCL had not formally invited Obasanjo for the refinery tour, questioning the propriety of their method. As of the report's filing, NNPCL's spokesperson, Olufemi Soneye, had yet to comment on Obasanjo's latest statement
