Rivers United head coach, Stanley Eguma is upbeat his side can successfully defend their Nigeria Premier Football League title.Eguma’s side started the defence of their title with a scrappy 2-1 win against former champions, Lobi Stars, at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium, Port Harcourt, on Sunday.Despite the nature of the win, Eguma is adamant his team can beat the 19 other teams to the title again.
“We’ve started building a new team and we are moving forward. Last season we ended up as champions and this season, we want to defend it,” Eguma said after the game.
