The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited ( NNPCL ) has lowered the price of petrol to marketers from N1,045 to N1,030 per litre, effective immediately. This reduction was announced by PETROAN, the association representing Nigerian petrol retailers, during a meeting in Abuja. The association's president, Dr. Billy Harry, expressed hope for further price reductions in the future, attributing the move to competition from the Dangote Refinery , which sells petrol to marketers at N970 per litre.
The new price allows marketers to buy petrol at a lower rate, making it more competitive for consumers. The NNPCL has also opened its portal for marketers to start purchasing products, leading to the suspension of import plans
