NMA loses member to COVID-19, others down with virus

The Nigerian Medical Association , Cross River State branch has lost a member to COVID-19 while nine others are seriously sick.

“Currently we have nine members who are infected with COVID-19. We lost a member in Ogoja, Rev Sister Kate Okpa. COVID-19 is not a child’s play, it is something that is serious. Dr Ayuk further disclosed that the challenge the Association had face was that the positive cases are under-reported even though the National Response Team are already on ground to see how they can resolve some of these issues.

“We thank God that NCDC are listening to us hence the State has two testing centres for COVID-19 and we are happy with the response we are gotten. Let the government of Cross River State listen to us and do their own part.“Let the government let us know what they are doing, currently we have patients that are stranded at our isolation centre that has five bed spaces filled. The state government is not doing anything about expanding the isolating centre.
