PORT HARCOURT – THE Nigerian Liquefied Natural Gas, NLNG, hopes to boost the population of Nigerian entrepreneurs this year with the inaugurated, yesterday, of its 2019 Youths Empowerment Scheme, YES, for 89 youths across its host communities.

Dienyen, represented by Isaac Chu, Acting Manager, Community Relations, said, “Training commences next week in five top training centres. 24 beneficiaries are to do catering and hotels management, 17 for automotive and advanced welding,16 enrolled into farm management while 15 will undergo photography and video production.

“The courses range from 3 to 6 month of intensive training plus 3 months of post set up practical training. Last year, 84 beneficiaries were enrolled and all graduated and were set up. Many of them have carved a niche for themselves in their various disciplines.” NLNG, operating in Bonny, Rivers state, has earned the International CSR award for ‘Best Company in Poverty Alleviation’ from SERAS, over the company’s use of YES to propel youths from the company’s110 host and pipeline communities out of poverty.
