Nigerian striker, Awoniyi hospitalized
Mainz striker, Taiwo Awoniyi, has been hospitalized after he suffered a concussion during his side’s Bundesliga clash against Augsburg on Sunday.
The Nigerian attacker was motionless for some seconds after he landed badly following a collision with Augsburg player, Felix Uduokhai, in the first half of the encounter. Providing an update on Awoniyi, Mainz disclosed that the 22-year-old would spend the night in the hospital as a precautionary measure.
“Our striker Taiwo Awoniyi suffered a concussion in his collision with Augsburg’s Felix Uduokhai and is spending the night in the hospital as a precautionary measure,” Mainz wrote on Twitter.
