The Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Olayemi Cardoso , has assured that the apex bank will ensure a steady supply of cash to tackle shortages across the country. At a press briefing following the 298th Monetary Policy Committee meeting in Abuja, Cardoso stated that the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) is adopting multifaceted measures to address cash shortages . The CBN is ensuring that all Deposit Money Banks receive necessary cash supplies to meet public demand.

Cardoso also emphasized the importance of regular dialogue between central bank branches and cash money banks to ensure there are no gaps in cash distribution. The CBN is committed to addressing distortions in the cash supply system to prevent undue suffering for citizens. On November 15, the CBN directed banks to prioritize cash disbursement through ATMs
