The Nigeria Police Force has denied rumours circulating on social media that the Special Anti-Robbery Squad has been revived with a new set of rules. Force Public Relations Officer Olumuyiwa Adejobi made this clarification early Monday morning.He said that the new tactical squads being set up by state police commands to combat various crimes are not a reformation of the disbanded SARS unit.

'The Special Anti-Robbery Squad, which was disbanded on October 11, 2020, remains dissolved,' Adejobi said.Adejobi also revealed that the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, will address complaints against operatives of the Special Tactical Squads during his meeting with top police officials today. He said “The IGP has a meeting with the CPs and above today, Monday, and this will be included on his agenda.
