President Emmanuel Macron and Nigeria 's President Bola Tinubu have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at diversifying critical value chains in the solid minerals sectors of both countries. The agreement focuses on promoting sustainable mining activities, reducing environmental impacts, and establishing joint extraction and processing projects.
Both countries also agreed to adopt international best practices to improve the conditions of the local populace affected by mining and to remediate over 2,000 abandoned pits in Nigeria
