The Nigeria Labour Congress , Niger State Council, has signed an agreement with the state government on the implementation of the new minimum wage of N80,000. The development was contained in a communique issued at the end of the State Executive Council meeting of the NLC held at the Labour House in Minna on Friday, November 22, 2024.According to the communique, the N1.
The agreement includes a clause that in January 2025, the N80,000 Niger State minimum wage shall be implemented to 80 percent from the 70 percent to be paid in November and December 2024.The communique also stated that the shortfall for some levels of health workers and tertiary institutions workers is to be augmented from the savings of doctored tables, such that no worker will receive less than 20 percent of what was paid in September 2024.
