Leader of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Niger State and immediate past Governor of the state, Dr Mu’azu Babangida Aliyu, has described the last Saturday’s congress of the party as a sham and an abuse of rule of law.

Addressing a crowd of party supporters in his house in Minna, who came to welcome him from Abuja, Babangida said even the National Working Committee of the PDP was taken aback by the illegality and brazen abuse of the rule of law by some desperate politicians. Babangida insisted, “those who thought that they could seize the realm of the party’s executives in the state by whipping ethnic sentiments and displaying other forms of bigotry, will in no distant time, be placed in their deserved positions.
