The United Nations (UN) has expressed deep concern about the incessant killings in Niger. Secretary-General, Antonio Guterres condemned the latest gunmen

Secretary-General, Antonio Guterres condemned the latest gunmen attack in Banibangou in the region of Tillabéri of Niger.At least 15 people were murdered on Monday in an attack in western Niger, less than two weeks after 33 people were killed by jihadists.

“Guterres expresses his condolences to the bereaved families and wishes the injured a swift recovery”, Dujarric noted. Dujarric, however, said the UN mission camp in Aguelhok, in the Kidal region, was attacked on Wednesday. Three UN military personnel and two civilians were injured in what was the fifth attack on the same camp in 2021.
