The National Emergency Management Agency has called for a special budgetary allocation for the recently-designed National Flood Response Plan to relieve the victims of flood disasters across the country in the future.
The donation was packaged with support from the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management, and Social Development.
Handing over the relief materials donated to Governor Babagana Zulum at the Zonal office of the Agency in Maiduguri, Habib noted with grief: “Several states in the country, including Borno, have suffered series of floods, including other natural and human induced disasters.” He explained, “Already the agency is inundated with reports of flood disaster in more than 450 local government areas from 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory, FCT and still counting, causing colossal loss of lives, livelihood, properties and infrastructure.All rights reserved.
