The National Commission for Refugees, Migrants and Internally Displaced Persons have distributed relief materials to about 2000 displaced persons across three local government areas in Kogi State.
The commission said the beneficiaries were residents in Bassa, Igalamela, and Ibaji local government areas located along the River Niger banks which is prone to flood.
The Federal Commissioner of the agency, Senator Basheer Mohammed, who made the donation in Ayangba, said that the relief materials were meant to alleviate the suffering of the displaced persons in line with the directive of the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari . Items distributed include bags of 50kg rice, bags of 100kg beans, ground maize, millet, red oil, salt, tomato paste, and seasoning cubes as well as non-food items such as provisions, mats, blankets, and medical items, among others.All rights reserved.
