Renewed banditry: IDPs take refuge in Katsina district head’s palace

Scores of Internally Displaced Persons now take refuge at the palace of the district head of Batsari , Tukur Mu’azu, following current upsurge in banditry attacks in the council and in other councils

in the state.

Governor Aminu Masari’s Special Adviser on Security, Ibrahim Katsina, however, said residents of the state would in the next two weeks begin to see the results of new strategies adopted by the state to tackle banditry. It was also found out that aside the palace, virtually all the houses in Batsari town now accommodate internally displaced persons.

The District head of Batsari, Tukur Mu’azu, in an interview, appealed to the Federal Government to increase its assistance to the state government in tackling the renewed bandits attacks in the council and in other front line councils in the state.
