NBC: You must resell series, sports rights to Nigerians – FG tells Pay TV owners
Information Minister, Lai Mohammed, has condemned the attack on him over the amended 6th edition of the National Broadcasting Code .
Mohammed says it will reposition the broadcast industry in a manner that will benefit all stakeholders and practitioners. The minister noted that when there is monopoly and exclusivity, growth is hampered particularly as it relates to local contents. “We will not dictate the price at which you are going to resell but you must resell at a price to be agreed by both parties. It is only in Africa that you have exclusivity and monopoly of contents as a business model. In the UK, you watch premier league on any channel,” he said.
