It is looking like rain this weekend for most of the country
Met Eireann has issued a Status Yellow rain warning for 19 counties on Friday with "thundery downpours" expected as the country braces for a wet weekend with some points of sunny spells.
As well as a wet Friday, Met Éireann has forecast showery weather through to Sunday. Its forecast for the weekend says that Friday will be a very wet, cloudy and blustery day to start as bands of rain move north across the country from early morning.On Friday night it will stay rather cloudy and wet with widespread showers, some turning heavy at times too.
On Saturday there will be a good mix of sunshine and showers. Some of the showers will be more persistent in the west where moderate southwest winds will increase fresh at times.
