Met Éireann is also warning of 'difficult travelling conditions'
Met Éireann has extended its Status Yellow weather warning for Friday as the country braces for heavy rainfall and possible spot flooding.
Drivers are also being alerted to the inevitability of "difficult travelling conditions" on the country's roads. A Met Éireann spokesperson said: "Scattered outbreaks of rain will turn heavy and persistent across the southwestern half of the country in the afternoon with localised flooding, before extending to all areas in the evening."
Despite a super soaker Friday, there are predicted to be sunny spells with humid conditions throughout as warm temperatures persist, ranging between 17C and 21C.
