Despite winning their last game of the season to ensure the club’s safety in the topflight, a mass exodus of players has hit Nigeria Professional Football League side Sunshine Stars following the state government’s inability to pay salaries and match bonuses of the players, The PUNCH reports.
The Akure-based club have been cash-strapped, forcing the Ondo State Government to ponder privatising the club in March.
