Officials of the Lagos State government carrying out mass demolition of houses in the Oworonshoki area of the state have arrested the African Action Congress (AAC) House of Assembly candidate for Kosofe, Opeyemi Benjamin. SaharaReporters learnt that Benjamin was arrested at the demolition site at Oworo – an exercise which has been going on for days.

SaharaReporters learnt that Benjamin was arrested at the demolition site at Oworo – an exercise which has been going on for days. Human rights activist and AAC Presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore, has also demanded an immediate release of the AAC candidate, by the Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu directly run illegal task force.

“He was arrested at the demolition site at Oworo, which has been on for days now. Residents have lamented on the fact that the government didn't inform them before coming, neither is there any form of compensation in play. Till date, the @followlasg under @jidesanwoolu has refused to respond while demolition continues.
