The Nation Newspaper Lagos Govt will assist family found under Dolphin Estate bridge, says Commissioner
Despite the dislodging of tenants from under Dolphin Estate bridge, a family of five remains there, citing lack of alternative accommodation. The team met Taiwo, Idowu and Alaba Johnson about 12 noon.According to him, their mother and Kehinde went to find food for the family.
He said: “It’s a very touching and pathetic story because they cook, eat, defecate and do virtually everything in the same place, but that is the reality of what we met there. “We have cleared Ijora, Obalende and Apongbon bridges, and now this. We are moving to the other side of Lagos and we will keep pushing back to reclaim our spaces and put them to proper use.
The team also visited Arowojobe Estate and Mende Villa Estate, Maryland, as a continuation of last Sunday’s inspection to ascertain measures to restore the drainage’s alignment.According to the commissioner, some of the structures on the Mende Villa Estate are sitting right inside the channel thus flouting the mandatory 15 meters setback.
“So for Arowojobe and Mende Villa Estates, they have to take the exact measurements from the edge of Odo Iya Alaro and peg it, the we can take it from there.
