Lagos accounts for 44% of Nigeria’s COVID-19 cases –Sanwo-Olu
The Lagos State Government says Lagos accounts for about 44 per cent of the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases nationwide and continues to be the epicentre of the pandemic in Nigeria.
“Our dear state, therefore, continues to be the epicentre of the COVID-19 pandemic in Nigeria, with about 44 per cent of the total number of confirmed cases nationwide. Explaining why he backtracked on plans to reopen religious houses, the governor said it is in line with ongoing evaluation of evolving scenarios regarding the causes of the infection in the state and the corresponding public health advisory guidelines issued by the experts.
“This is not a decision that we have taken lightly, it is simply in line with our ongoing evaluation of evolving scenarios regarding the cause of the infection in Lagos State and the corresponding public health advisory guidelines issued by the experts. Sanwo-Olu stressed that the state is now fully in the phase of personal responsibility, regarding the pandemic.
