The Kwara State Government has strongly condemned an alleged assault on a youth corps member by a teacher at a secondary school in Ilorin. The accused teacher denies the charges, stating it was a misunderstanding over greetings.
The Kwara State Government has condemned the recent alleged assault against a youth corps member at Government Day Secondary School, Kulende, Ilorin , by a teacher identified as Mrs Amuzat Fatima Nike. The incident led to an unscheduled visit by the Anti-Loitering Team and a management team to the school to investigate the allegations and restore calm. The accused teacher denies the claims, stating that the youth corps member did not greet her properly, leading to a verbal altercation.
The commissioner for education, Hajia Sa'adatu Modibbo Kawu, stressed that Kwara State is known for peace and harmony and that the state government will not allow such incidents to disrupt this. Necessary disciplinary procedures will be taken against the accused teacher
