A 42-year-old man, Abdulsalam Ajibola, has been arrested by operatives of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps in Kwara State for allegedly defrauding two admission seekers.
Ajibola was said to have presented himself as a soldier and promised to help his victims secure admission into Nigerian Defence Academy, Kaduna.
The spokesperson for the NSCDC in the state, DSC Ayeni Olasunkanmi, disclosed this in a statement made available to journalists in Ilorin, the state capital on Monday. According to Olasunkanmi, the suspect was arrested at Oke Onigbin in the Isin Local Government Area of the state where he allegedly impersonated a soldier to defraud the victims.
He was said to have collected N796,000 from two people, Abdullahi Saheed and Ropo Gabriel while promising them admission slots in the NDA. The suspect was also accused of absconding with a Toyota Picnic car belonging to a prophet, Samuel Olugbemiga, after collecting it from the owner under the guise of using it for commercial transportation.
