The Crown Prince of Ogbakiri Clan in Emohua Local Government Area of Rivers State, Prince Owen Mekwa, has issued a stern warning to the President of the 10th Senate, Senator Godswill Akpabio, over his recent comments about Governor Siminalayi Fubara.
Speaking in Port Harcourt over the weekend, Prince Mekwa expressed disapproval of Akpabio's remarks made on December 13, 2024, during the birthday celebration of the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike.Mekwa described the comments as “uncomplimentary and inflammatory” and cautioned Akpabio against meddling in the state’s affairs in 2025.
“We want to make it clear that Rivers people will no longer tolerate such interference from Abuja-based politicians,” Mekwa said. “Since assuming office 18 months ago, Governor Fubara has sustained his social contract with Rivers people. His administration has ensured peace, security, and remarkable developmental strides,” he said.
