Opeyemi Bamidele, majority leader of the upper legislative chamber, says President Bola Tinubu sleeps well because Godswill Akpabio is president of the senate.
Opeyemi Bamidele, majority leader of the upper legislative chamber, says President Bola Tinubu sleeps well because Godswill Akpabio is the president of the senate.
Bamidele spoke at an event hosted by spokespersons of senators in Abuja to mark Akpabio’s 62nd birthday on Monday.“I know one of the reasons he is able to sleep well is because he has you as the president of the senate,” he said.“He trusts you. He depends on you.Mr President of the Senate, we are all very proud of you.
“I’m standing with my colleagues. I’m always privileged to speak on their behalf and I know I’m not saying anything other than what they expect me to say. “We are very proud of you. We just want to thank you for who you are and we want to thank you for the kind of leadership that you provide.”Also speaking, Adams Oshiomhole, senator representing Edo north, said as Akpabio has been able to unite the senate as its leader.
“In moment like this, to speak of a man who had the appetite to tolerate debates and remind us that senators are not meant to be stamerers and that democracy manifests better when there are controversies, not meant for the chicken hearted,” he said.
