Governor Dikko Umar Radda of Katsina State has vowed to take decisive action against the bandits who recently attacked patients and healthcare workers at Kankara General Hospital. Expressing his outrage in a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Muhammad Kaula, Governor Radda condemned the assault, describing it as a vile act targeting vulnerable patients and healthcare facilities.
'This assault on healthcare workers and patients shows how low and cruel these bandits are,' the Governor stated. Though we have made noticeable progress in reducing these attacks, this incident reminds us that our mission is not complete.' He revealed plans to implement additional security measures, including deploying more personnel to healthcare facilities across the state. 'The Government of Katsina will not allow criminals to impede access to medical care or endanger healthcare workers. Anyone found aiding these criminals or participating in such attacks will face the full force of the law. There will be no haven for those who threaten our healthcare system,' Radda warned. The governor also reassured the Katsina State Chapter of the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) and the affected hospital staff of his administration’s commitment to their safety. He emphasized that protecting healthcare workers and residents remains a top priority for his government
