The corpse of a Fulani community leader (Ardo) in Panyam District of Mangu local government area of Plateau State, Adamu Idris Gabdo, has been recovered.
LEADERSHIP reports that Ardo Gabdo was declared missing in the area for days while returning from a visit.
Chairman of the state chapter of Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria , Nuru Abdullahi, who confirmed the discovery of the corpse of the Fulani leader, added that the corpse would be taken to Bauchi State for burial.Meanwhile, the spokesperson of the Operation Safe Haven, a military taskforce maintaining peace in the area, Captain Oya James, also confirmed the discovery of the corpse of the Fulani leader.
It will be recalled that the Chief of Army Staff, Lt.-Gen. Taoreed Lagbaja, had on September 27, directed personnel of Operation Safe Haven to recover the body of the deceased within 24 hours.The deceased was declared missing on September 24, when he was said to be returning from a visit to the district head of Panyam district of Mangu LGA.
