Jonathan Towuru, former Assistant Inspector General of Police, has been appointed as the new Deputy Inspector General of Police representing the South South region. He succeeds DIG Daniel Pedro, who retired recently. Towuru brings a wealth of experience from various key positions within the Nigeria Police Force, including serving as Assistant Commissioner of Police at the State Criminal Investigation Department, Enugu, Commissioner of Police, Western Port, Apapa, Lagos, and AIG, Zone 6 Headquarters, Calabar.

Assistant Inspector General of Police Jonathan Towuru has been appointed as the new Deputy Inspector General of Police represent the South South region at the Police Service Commission.

Pedro retired as the DIG in charge of Information and Communications Technology and would be succeeded by Towuru who had served as the Assistant Commissioner of Police at the State Criminal Investigation Department, Enugu; Commissioner of Police, Western Port, Apapa, Lagos; AIG, Zone 6 Headquarters, Calabar among many other key positions.
