Jigawa State Governor Mallam Umar Namadi has urged farmers and herdsmen in the state to tolerate one another in order to live in peace and harmony. Namadi made the call during a follow-up peace mission visit to Kabak in Kirikassama LGA.
He said there is need to leave in peace and harmony for economic development of the area. The governor warned against encroachment of the cattle route and grazing reserve, as well as grazing in farmlands. He stressed that the state government would take serious action against anybody found encroaching the land.
reports that there have been persistent clashes between farmers and herdsmen in the state, resulting in loss of lives and destruction of property.
