IPOB condemns removal of rail tracks in South East | The Guardian Nigeria News - Nigeria and World News

Says it is hatred against NdigboIPOB further accused Federal Government of removing these rail tracks without any plan of replacing them, insisting that Fulani are at the forefront of the hatred against Ndigbo both at home and in the diaspora.

In a statement, yesterday, the IPOB Media and Publicity Secretary, Emma Powerful, observed that the rail lines in Igbo land were built by colonial masters, who saw the need for Igbo land to be connected by railroads, considering that the region was one of the most civilised nations, and also an industrial hub, even till date.

The statement reads: “The attention of IPOB has been drawn to the continued removal of existing, though obsolete, rail lines in Biafra land, particularly, Igbo territory. “It is appalling that Federal Government did not lay new rail lines in the region to improve transportation and commerce, but is busy removing the old ones laid by colonial masters. Government is removing these rail tracks, claiming they are using them to repay Chinese government loans taken by Eastern states.

“We ask them, when did Eastern states borrow money from China? We know that the government is enforcing this removal of rail tracks in Igbo land to suffer Ndigbo. Do our people know why they are removing rail lines in our land? It is because they know that we are about to leave and celebrate our freedom from Nigeria.”
