”INEC’s innovations will produce credible result if…” – Baba-Ahmed via politicsngr
Dr. Hakeem Baba-Ahmed, the National Director of Publicity and Advocacy of the Northern Elders Forum , has said innovations of the Independent National Electoral Commission like the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System will produce a credible result in the forthcoming 2023 general elections if they are effective.
POLITICS NIGERIA reports that INEC has said that the technological innovations it introduced and the Electoral Act 2022 will make it difficult for politicians to manufacture votes. However, Baba-Ahmed stated that money-induced voting will still be a challenge in the February and March polls. “Millions may vote if government moves firmly against insecurity, particularly in the North West, South East, and pockets of the North East, South West, and North Central.
“INEC’s innovations will produce a credible result if they work. If the poverty of the people can be curbed, we can reduce the influence of money on choices,” Baba-Ahmed wrote in his known Twitter handle on Thursday.
