The Imo State Government has debunked speculations that it has allocated land to the Federal Government for the establishment of an Internally Displaced Persons camp for northerners in Nsu, Ehime Mbano Local Government Area of the state. The government clarified that the ongoing construction in Nsu is a training facility for skills acquisition programs aimed at benefiting the people of the South East, not for Nigerians from other parts of the country.
He described the latest rumors as an attempt by certain individuals to incite Ndigbo against northerners and destabilize the country under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration. The commissioner questioned why security agencies had not arrested those involved in circulating a viral social media video, which allegedly called on Ndi Imo to rise against other Nigerians.
